Kia ora Koutou,

Hope this finds you all well on this windy, wild Sunday today!

Huge week coming up for all members of Russell Street School with all eyes on our big production “Blast to the Past” which is on Thursday night! Hasn’t that rolled round quickly? I’m sure there will be more reminders anyway, but if you have missed them: Please drop your kids off to the rear entrance of the Regent on King St by 5.45pm at the latest!

Show starts at 6pm. You should have already received a few free tickets courtesy of our sponsorship from the Mainland Foundation. If you require any more for the rest of the whānau, please head to the ticket office at the Regent or check out the online store here. Adults $5 and children aged 5-15 cost $2. Children under 5 are free, but will need a complimentary ticket from the ticketing office, preferably pick up before the day as I imagine it will be quite packed before the show!

Huge week too for our principal Nick as this is his last week of school before he heads off on his sabbatical. I’m sure he will enjoy the time off to rejuvenate and spend with his family. Myself and Mel will be in the ‘hot seat’ in his absence so the school will be in good shape upon his return.

Massive thanks to Duane Griffin and Shumin Zhou Griffin for kindly arranging to have some recommissioned laptops donated from FMG to the school to support with our Code Club. This will continue to help the team with their coding projects that they are up to every Wednesday afternoon.

Great to see so many Sports Registrations coming in lately with our five options on offer for your tamariki. Check the post here for more information if you haven’t signed up. Thanks to those of you who have paid already through online banking or our online shop. We urge you to do this once registering to secure your child’s place in their team. Last day for registrations is Friday 27th September. If you are collecting Yummy Fruit Stickers at home too, the last day for us collecting these is Friday as well so please send in anything you have to the office to help us get some free sports gear.

We have ICAS Maths and English tests this week on Tuesday and Thursday. All the best to those kids who are participating in that.

Just a FYI for those that use the Kelly Club services. Grace, their usual supervisor will be helping set up the new Kelly Club over at Milson School, so Mikayla will be taking over as the programme supervisor at Russell Street. You can contact her directly now on 021 085 25068.

That’s all from me this week. See you at production,

Troy
