Raffle for a Ride was AWESOME on Friday! The smiles on our children’s faces was priceless. What a success! Thank you to all those who made this experience possible. You know who you all are! An extra shout out to Troy, Rachelle and Win! I know there was a lot of mahi to make everything run safely and smoothly.
Bringing Jumpstart (our 4 year olds and families) down to the courts to be a part of Raffle for a Ride was a lovely way to show our community feel at RSS. I must share some words from one of our newest families to JumpStart who attended, “I am so pleased we are bringing our son to Russell Street School, all the kids here look so happy. I can’t wait for our family to be a part of this event next year.” Another new family mentioned how moved they felt by our school haka. It also made me a bit emotional watching our whole school performing the haka with so much strength and passion on the grandstand. What a whānau!
What’s on this week…
Tuesday is Jeans Day! Our beautiful Jean, our lovely librarian, is turning 95 this Tuesday. To celebrate her birthday we would love everyone to dress in jeans of some sort. I am sure Jean would love a friendly “Happy Birthday” or even a celebration hug when you see her next. I am going to try to rock as much ‘jeans’ as I can…
The Year 5s and 6s are also planning to come to school in their best gears for Jean’s Day. They will have their photos taken on this day for our Graduation Slide and report photos.
Wednesday is Interschool Athletics at Massey University. We wish our athletes all the best. Give it your all! We are very proud of you.
- Papatūānuku team are planning an end of year trip to Memorial Park on Thursday 6th December. If you can help on this trip please tell your child’s classroom teacher or email me email@example.com
- Year 6 Graduation is on the last Wednesday of the term- 12th December from 1.00- 3.00pm at Freyberg High School.
- Our teachers have been working hard writing reports. Each child will bring home their report on Thursday 13th of December. On this same day they will meet their 2019 teacher by spending some time before morning tea with them and their classmates.
That is all from me this week. Have a lovely week everyone.
