Creating confident tamariki, A whole performance – proud, The older kids (Tuakana) look out for our (Teina) little kids, Culture is embedded at the School, Amazed at how fast she has learnt (waiata – language), The language is being taken home and Our tamariki are proud to stand up and share at home e.g. – karakia
What can we do better / next? How about he akomanga mo ngā pepi Yr1-2, Waiata – specific to each child’s iwi and a Road trip to build connections within the Manawatu region!
This year Pae tamariki will be in Week 7 on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th of June at the Regent on Broadway. Since, it is only two weeks away, the Kapa Haka group will have two full day practices on Friday the 1st June and the 8th June in the hall. If you are free on these days we would love you to come along and join us.
Matariki Art Intensive:
On the 20th of June the whole school will be celebrating Matariki (Māori New year)with a Matariki Art Intensive Day! Each class will have the opportunity to design their own ‘Art Day’ which may include collaboration with another class or an artist to create an amazing piece of Art, which reflects Matariki in some way.
