Kia ora Room 7 whānau
As was communicated in a recent leadership pānui on SchoolStream, Nic Mason has successfully won the Deputy Principal position at Winchester School. This is a great opportunity for Nic to demonstrate his skills as a leader and I know you will join me in congratulating him on his appointment. It also reinforces Russell Street School’s strong reputation of developing effective school leaders who move on to other positions in other schools.
Nic was supposed to be coming back to school to resume teaching 3 days a week in Room 7 from the start of Term 2. This will no longer be taking place due to him moving schools.
Here is an outline of what will be happening for the teachers in Room 7 for Term 2 and beyond.
  • John will continue as the full time teacher of Room 7 during the period of remote learning from home.
  • When school reopens, John will teach the class for 2 days per week for the rest of Term 2.
  • Troy will step in and teach the other 3 days each week until the end of Term 2.
  • We will commence the appointment process for finding a replacement for Nic soon. We anticipate that the new teacher will start on or shortly after the beginning of Term 3.
If you have any questions regarding these changes please do not hesitate to contact me.
