Kia ora whānau,

Welcome back to school for 2020! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend, enjoying the sunshine and some quiet time.

What a pleasure meeting you all last week. It was a fabulous opportunity to start to get to know you and your beautiful children. Thank you all for making the time to come to one of our Kōrero Mai sessions. Remember, the door is always open and I welcome any snippets that will help us work together for

A few notices:

Swimming – the pool is not ready for swimming yet but as soon as it is we will let you know. Our days for swimming are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We will be swimming in the afternoon (1.30pm – 2.15pm) and if you are available to help please let me know. Some of our children find it very tricky getting changed after swimming when they are are a little wet.

Library – we will be visiting the library on a Tuesday afternoon, straight after swimming. We head to the library to visit Rebecca (our lovely librarian). Children are encouraged to issue and return books,

Spare Clothes – it is a great idea to pack a spare set of clothes for your children. The children love to play in any mud, puddles or dust they can find. Occasionally they also have ‘accidents’. A spare set of clothes allows your child to quickly get changed without any problems.

Wednesday 5th February – I am out of the classroom this Wednesday for some professional learning time. Mary will be relieving and she is a very experienced teacher. I will be talking to the children so they know what to expect.

Waitangi Day – Just a reminder, this Thursday (6th February) is Waitangi Day so school will be closed.

We have had a fabulous couple of days getting to know each other and are looking forward to the rest of the term.

Kerri
