Kia ora whānau,

With school holidays and Labour Day, it has been awhile since we have had our fortnightly team play afternoon.

The children were quick to get into their play once introduced to the teacher’s provocations.

It was fantastic to see siblings and friends get the opportunity to play and learn together.  There were many, many examples of tuakana teina this afternoon too.

To report on Papatūānuku Play this afternoon I have gathered a few ‘shout outs’…

  • When I was at the water station I was over the moon to hear two children from Piwakawaka ask if one of our newest five year olds would like to join in with their poisons. A big shout out to Chloe and Liz for helping Ruby play today.
  • A shout out from Kerri to Quinlan and Max who showed kotahitanga while creating a car. There was lots of sorting out to achieve their shared goal.
  • A shout out from Lucy to Kascity and Emilia for showing manaakitanga while playing doctors and nurses.
  • Ka pai to Leo who showed perseverance to create his mask. He worked the whole time and had several goes before he was happy!
Thank you to those who also have given loose parts to our team for the tamariki to explore and be creative with.
