Kia ora e te whānau,
I hope you have all had a restful weekend. I know mine was full of birthday parties and enjoying the sunshine today. Here are a couple of days/reminders so you can see what’s going on in our space for the time being.
As you have heard, our school pool is now open. So here are our swimming days and times:
Monday – 2:15m – 3pm
Thursday – 11am – 11:30am
Friday – 9am – 9:45am
It would be great if we could have 100% participation from the children as we only get a few weeks of swimming in before the weather starts to get a bit too cold.
Also, if you have a spare moment, I am always happy to have an extra pair of hands poolside.
Our regular library visiting day is Thursday afternoon (1:30pm – 3pm). If you could please support your child with some gentle reminders every now and then to ensure they bring their books back from home to be changed regularly. Some children expressed a bit of a concern about always forgetting their library books in previous years and I suggested that they could leave their books at school, rather than take them home. So if your children aren’t bringing library books home, that might be why.
I am sure you are all keen to get into the swing of regular routines with your wonderful tamariki in regards to reading at home. It may be a couple more weeks until I get readers home as I am getting to know them and we are working together to find some goals for moving forward. Feel free to read other books/stories with your children at home and continue to making reading an enjoyable experience with the whānau.
