A very busy end to the term for us here in Harakeke!
On Thursday we are visiting Mt Biggs School and our tamariki are very excited!
We have a range of super exciting learning experiences planned for our children, some with a real ‘country kid’ flavour. Please send children with a change of clothes, a warm top or jacket, sneakers or gumboots, a water bottle and a generous lunch.
We will be providing a sausage sizzle snack so if your child has any dietary requirements (such as gluten free, vegetarian…) please let me know.
Festival of Cultures
On the evening of Tuesday 25 (between 4-7 pm) we are having a festival of cultures at school. Children from across the school are sharing their learning. In Harakeke we have been learning about the languages families in our class use and we want to share this learning. Children will have a time (within the 4-7 pm block) where they will be sharing in room 5.
More information will come around specific times later in the week. If you have particular times you would rather your child was involved in sharing please let me know.
Unfortunately we still have some unwelcome visitors in Harakeke. Please check you child’s hair and treat as appropriate. Also it helps stop/slow the spread of these little critters if long hair is tied up. If you need support dealing with these little visitors please let me know.
Many thanks for your help and support with managing this.
