RSS Marae Experience
19th February 2019
Kia ora whānau mā,
As a context of learning for this term we will once again be visiting Te Ahu A Turanga Marae in Woodville. Our classes (Rooms 1, 3, 4 and 5) will be visiting altogether on Thursday the 7th of March. As you can imagine, this experience will be valuable to all of our children and give them an insight to life on a Marae. Our children will be engaged in a number of activities on the Marae. We anticipate leaving school by bus at 9.30 a.m. and we will leave the Marae at approximately 1p.m.
We will require parents to join us and would be very appreciative of offers of help but unfortunately we can’t accommodate preschoolers. Below is a form for you to give permission which we need completed for every child because we are travelling outside the city limits.
A pōwhiri (formal welcome) is part of the protocol of coming onto a marae for the first time and this will happen shortly after our arrival.
If you have any immediate queries, please see Robin or Kelly.
