Kia ora Kaikomako whānau
This term our whānau will be taking part in an exciting literacy programme called #NZreadaloud. During this time we will be reading a fantastic novel called Tui Street Heroes, written by Anne Kayes. This programme collaborates with other schools across NZ who are reading the same book at the same time (not exactly the same time in the day, just over the same time period). The students are able to communicate with each other and share their work and ideas through a variety of different platforms. One of these is called Edmodo, all our students are signed up to this through their gmail. Other platforms that will be used a lot during this time are called Flipgrid and Padlet. These are apps that needs to be downloaded onto our students ipads, some of the kids have been able to do this already, however some of them need assistance from you at home with entering passwords etc to download new apps. Could you all please check in with your kids and ask them if they are needing help with downloading Flipgrid and Padlet.
It is going to be an exciting term of reading and we look forward to sharing our work with you at home along the way.
