Kia ora Whānau,
Hope you have been enjoying the beautiful sunshine today. Man, if only our summer would be a bit more consistent, I’d be loving it heaps more. We are still yet to do a full week at school, despite being the end of Week 2 and this week coming will give us that. I don’t know about you, but having Waitangi Day last Thursday really threw me and I kept thinking Friday was a Monday! Here’s the ‘skinny’ on what’s going down around school…
You might have seen the team from Handy (Joy’s Class) out taking orders for their famous Apple Crumbles last week. They are taking preorders and will get these to you when they have made them. Check out more information here.
From Apple Crumbles to Apple ID’s… We are discontinuing the use of the [email protected] account. So if your child brings an iPad to school, chances are they may have downloaded apps on this account. These apps will need to be deleted and reinstalled using your own account. Check out my post here with a bit more info or come see me or Nick for some assistance.
Thanks to those of you who have already filled these out again for 2020. If you haven’t please click here to fill it out online, it will take a few seconds and it saves us contacting you asking for permission to take your children outside the school for future excursions.
Hockey is our only sport on offer this term and it starts next Monday. We have limited spaces available in the Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 Teams so get in quick as our Year 5/6 team is full already, so please ensure prompt payment if you have already registered or we could give your child’s spot to someone else. Click here for more information.
The Egg Programme:
Keen for some Free Range eggs. You may have seen the information go out about this that delivers fresh eggs to school. Every purchase gives back to the school too.
Teacher Only Day:
It is a while away, but we like to bombard you with notices about this as we always have a couple of people that don’t get this message. There will be no school on MONDAY 9TH MARCH for all students attending Russell Street School as our teachers are having a day of professional development. Thanks in anticipation of supporting this.
Term 1 and 4 are our hat terms. Thanks for getting your kids sorted for this. If your child doesn’t have a hat, they can be purchased from the office for $15 or a preloved hat is $5.
It is open again for 2020 and has been enjoyed last week by those who had their sessions. Most teachers have posted on SchoolStream when their classes days are. Pool Keys will be available to purchase this week. Keep an eye on the SchoolStream.
A hearty congratulations to our beloved Kelly and her husband Kahu who will be expecting a baby girl in late June this year. I know she will be a welcome addition to the Stickle family.
A massive shout out to Bianca who completed the Tarawera 50km Ultra marathon on Friday. What an accomplishment, you inspire us B! If she is a bit slow moving tomorrow, that may be the reason why.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody. See you around school.
