.

Kia ora whānau,  Friday saw us celebrate the beginning of a new initiative – BYOD (Staff).  Staff members are invited to bring their own dog to school each Friday.  BYOD (Staff) will support the well-being of all at RSS and supports our value of rekareka. It also adds to the ‘family vibe’ we aim for. BYOD (staff) will be a trial for the rest of this term, with the hope this becomes a regular thing in 2020.

We have developed a very careful and culturally responsive set of guidelines for all dog owners to follow.  The guidelines are designed to keep everyone safe, including the dogs.  I have attached the link for the guidelines below.

We are very excited to have this initiative up and running – it has taken some time to ensure it could be successful and a lot of careful consideration.

We are aware that some of our learners may be nervous of dogs.  This maybe a great time to remind their classroom teacher if this applies to your child/children.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about this please come and have a chat with me.

Ngā mihi, Mel
