Kia ora Atawhai whānau,

Te Kupu O Te Wiki: Ngaru – Wave/The journey of life

I have a beautiful picture to go with this, but SchoolStream won’t let me upload photos today! I am trying to fix this but no luck so far!

Somehow a whole year has flown by and we are at the end of 2019. Welcome to Week 9! It’s a bittersweet time of year and as teachers we feel the full range of emotions – pride at how much our kids have grown as learners, excited to see what they achieve next, but also a bit of sadness in letting them move onwards and upwards. I know the tamariki are feeling it a bit too, there’s a lot of change happening in their worlds at the moment. Only a few days to go before they can have a well earned sleep in and rest.

This week I encourage you to read Kelly’s Leadership Pānui for our reminders – click here. It contains everything you need to know for our final week at school.

My only addition is a reminder about our Hospice collection in Atawhai. If your whānau has something you wish to add to our donation, please bring it in by Thursday morning. A few of us will visit the Hospice at some stage on Thursday to give them our koha. Thank you so much for all of the kind donations we have already received. I am always so humbled by the generosity of our community. This has been a valuable learning opportunity and experience for our kids and I really appreciate your support.

Enjoy your Sunday afternoon,

Ngā mihi,

Lucy

P.S. I’m working on trying to upload some photos but SchoolStream just doesn’t want to co-operate with me. Check out our Seesaw to see what we’ve been up to this wiki.
