Kia ora Atawhai whānau,

Te Kupu O Te Wiki: Motokā – Car

What a beautiful week we have had. It started on Monday with our visit to Ross Intermediate which we absolutely loved! It was the most amazing celebration of whakawhanaungatanga, panekiretanga, and manaakitanga & a very special experience for all of our tamariki (and whānau!). A huge mihi to all of the parents who came to tautoko us, we are so happy you were able to join us and see our kids perform. We are very proud kaiako and we’re so excited to continue our relationship with Whaea Jay, Whaea Paiana & our tuakana at Ross in 2020.

We finished the week with Raffle for a Ride which is always a whole school favourite. We were so lucky in Atawhai to have a few winners who got to arrive at school in pretty flash motokā so it was a super exciting morning!

  • Athletics Prizegiving – This is being held on Wednesday at 2.15pm. Our tamariki have been practising a song with Jenny this term that they will get to share with the school as well. Come and join us if you can!
  • Whānau Voice – This Wednesday and Thursday after school we are hosting Whānau Voice sessions on our Values Wheel mahi so far. We would love to share our work with you and hear your feedback if you have some time to spare! Keep an eye out for Mel’s Leadership Pānui which will have more info about this.

I’ve attached lots of photos from our full on wiki of learning, exploring, and FUN! Ruby brought in a bird’s nest on Thursday and it sparked an entire day of spontaneous science learning. We made observations, asked lots of pātai, and then had a go at making our own nests. We are totally in awe of how creative and clever such tiny creatures can be (a little bit like ourselves!).

Enjoy your Sunday afternoon whānau,

Mauri tau,

Lucy
