Kia ora koutou,
Firstly, I want to say congratulations to the students who went to Interschool Athletics yesterday! What an awesome day of sportsmanship and competition. Thank you, too, to the parent help that came and supported us for the day – it was very much appreciated!
For the last few weeks, we have been looking into the experience of gift giving here in the class. Each student has a buddy in class for which they are designing a gift, based on what they have learnt about that person through a face-to-face interview. We are now in the final stages of planning and next week will be the creating phase. They know that they are to use as many recycled materials as possible for this project, and it is not about going and and buying something. I just wanted to make that part quite clear for everyone! Over the weekend, your child will be collecting the materials they will need for next week and are to bring these in on Monday – this could be things like cardboard, newspaper, material etc. You are not in any way expected to go out and purchase anything! Their ideas have been incredible and I look forward to seeing them in the creating phase next week!
Head lice is making itself apparent again. Please could you check your child at home, and if necessary, treat their head. I thank you in advance for your support in trying to keep this at bay!
Lastly, a reminder to bring in their balloon-powered contraption tomorrow (Friday).
