Kia ora e te whanau!

I can’t believe it is Week 6 already.  Time is really flying by.

This week, we are going to be starting our new Rangahau (research) projects on our chosen countries.  Please take the time to talk to your child about what country they are researching and what their ‘wonderings’ are.  I am sure your children will enjoying sharing where their learning takes them.

As part of our Rangahau, I have organised for us to go to the library on Mondays at 11:30am – 12:30pm.  We plan to do parts of our Rangahau utilising the resources in our school library.  If I could pretty please ask you to keep an eye out for any library books your children may bring home.  Our goal for the rest of the year is to keep our overdue library book list empty!

We have the Book Fair coming our library on Wednesday.  Feel free to come on in when you drop off or pick up your children, perhaps grab a couple of books to put aside for a special occassion.  Also, as per Russell Street tradition, on Friday, 31 August we will be holding our annual book character dress up day.  Get your thinking caps on and those sewing machines out!  Can’t wait to see everybody’s costumes.

Have a wonderful week!
