How stunning is this image? (Image by Karla Karaitiana). We would like to congratulate all of the hard work put into Te Pikinga who competed at the regional Kapa Haka competition on Friday. These kids did Russell Street School proud and put us on the Kapa map for the Manawatū! They were brilliant! A massive thank you to Matua Ropes, Whaea Meta, Rosie, Eileen, Beka, Hannah and… me (I suppose I’d better thank myself) for putting so much effort into this.

Contrats Samantha! We hope you had an amazing wedding weekend :)

As for the week ahead, it’s a bit of a “triple jump: hop, step leap” (pun intended!). With a normal Monday tomorrow followed by the TEACHER STRIKE DAY followed by SCHOOL ATHLETICS DAY. The TEACHER STRIKE DAY is confirmed for Tuesday 13th November and school will be closed for instruction for the whole day. If you need to arrange child care please get in touch with Grace from Kelly Club or click link for more information. The office put out Athletics Info in an earlier post.

A reminder that the Sportsperson of the Year Nominations (Year 5 & 6) and the Dean McKerras Performing Arts Award Nomination (Years 1 – 6) are due into the office this Friday the 16th of November.

Also this week, Russell Street School will be farewelling our Massey teachers: Craig, Beka and Simon. You guys have been like part of the whānau and I know that we will all miss you. Make sure you wish them luck for their end of year assignments!

We will be drawing for the Raffle for a ride this Friday Morning. I wonder who is going to win this year?

That’s all for now, have a great week everyone!
