Kia ora whānau

As most of you are probably aware, today it was announced that primary teachers and principals will be going on a full day strike on Wednesday August 15.

A decision about Russell St’s status during the strike, ie whether it will stay open for instruction, provide supervision only, or close, has not yet been made.

This decision can only be made by the Board of Trustees who are formally meeting on Wednesday August 8th. Whether or not the decision is to keep the school open, it will be a day of disruption for students, parents and support staff.

The reasons for going on strike are complex. If you would like to understand more what it is all about please feel free to come in and have a chat with me or view the file linked below to find out more.
