Kia ora koutou,

I’m just writing to share with you how unbelievably proud I am of our kids! We were so excited to travel on the bus and join the seniors at Skoglund Park – that in itself was an adventure! Throughout the day all of our children demonstrated many of our core values at RSS, such as outstanding Wairua (Spirit and Determination), Kawenga (Responsibility), and Rekareka (Fun and Enjoyment). In striving for Excellence (Panekiretanga), we took out the top three placings for the Year 1 Girls, and 1st and 3rd for Year 1 Boys. Every single child in Pīwakawaka tried their hardest today and gave the run everything they had- Kei te whakahīhī au ki a koutou – I am so proud of you all!

A huge mihi to all the mātua (parents) who were able to come down and tautoko (support) the tamariki. It was very special for them to see so many Pīwakawaka families on the sideline cheering us on! Your support is so appreciated and it makes events like this such a special & memorable time for us all.

I’m sure you have some tired little fantails tonight, who will hopefully sleep soundly! I have attached a few photos from today, though I was a bit tied up being an enthusiastic voice on the sidelines that I forgot to take many pictures!

Hei āpōpō (See you tomorrow),

Nā Lucy
