Kia ora Pīwakawaka whānau,

What an incredibly busy and packed start to the year we have had in Room 3! We’ve done a huge amount of learning and had lots of fun along the way. Learning Conferences in Week 11 were the perfect way to end our term! I thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to talk with all of you about the amazing progress your tamariki are making, and ‘where to next’ for Term 2.

We are so fortunate to have Anna Morris joining us as my classroom release teacher every Wednesday, starting Week 1 next term. Anna has been teaching in Pīwakawaka for the last two consecutive Wednesdays and is super excited to continue being a permanent part of our weekly programme for the remainder of the year. Anna is a well-loved member of the RSS relieving staff and brings with her a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience which we are so lucky to benefit from!

In other news, my big sister got married yesterday! This is something the children know about and we even designed dresses for her to wear during Play time – we have some talented artists in our class! Bridesmaid duties meant that I was only at school for the morning yesterday, so I missed seeing many of you at the end of the day. For those who I didn’t catch up with – thank you for a wonderful first term! Each and every one of your children make our classroom the special place it is; they are the reason I love coming to school every day! I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you and I am excited to continue working alongside you and your tamariki in Term 2.

Have a relaxing, fun, and safe holiday break.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Lucy
