Kia ora Pīwakawaka whānau,

I just wanted to touch base to make sure everyone has the right info for our exciting day tomorrow!

There are posts on SchoolStream about Cross Country, but essentially what you need to know is written here. Our buses will leave school at 10.40am. The buses are only for Year 0, 1 & 2 – the older kids are walking over to Skoglund Park. It’s a bit far for our little legs to walk (especially before such an important race!) so we get to arrive in style and save all our energy for the main event.

Our races are scheduled to be at 11.40am (kōtiro mā/girls) and 11.50am (tama mā/boys). Obviously the flow of the day could see these times change slightly so we’ll just roll with that as it happens. We will return to school around 1pm.

You are more than welcome to come down to support your children and join me in cheering them on! For anyone who isn’t sure, Skoglund Park is located down the end of Thames St which is off Tremaine Avenue. It would be fantastic to see you there.

I’ve attached House Groups in case your child wants to dress up tomorrow. We’d love to see some colour in the field and for the kids to experience a bit of House Spirit alongside their tuakana (big buddies). The air will likely be very crisp so layering up may be the way to go.

I can’t wait to see our amazing Pīwakawaka Superstars show us how it’s done tomorrow!

Hei te ata (See you in the morning),

Lucy
