Yesterday two of the Manawatu Turbos came to hang out with us in the afternoon as part of the Adopt A Turbo programme that puts rugby players in the school yard to help inspire our tamariki.

Brice Henderson and Jackson Iose spent some time firstly talking to us and telling us about their journey with Rugby and how they have made it to where they are today. Then they let us ask heaps of questions from ‘What does a day in the life of a Turbo look like?’ to ‘Do you play Fortnite?’ Then they took us out for a game of touch on the courts and we finished by performing our school waiata to thank them.

The Manawatu Turbos season kicks off this Saturday 18th August at 2.35pm with their opener against Waikato at Central Energy Trust Arena, a great family event to get along and show your support.

And if you’re keen for even more rugby this coming week, check out the Men in Education vs NZ Police game this Friday evening at 6.45pm at the same venue as above.
